Amending my original rating: Food was great the first time I had gone however I recently went back last weekend and there were several people waiting at the door to be seated, not one of the wait staff even looked in their direction. 5min later a couple walked in from the joined Inn on the other side and asked to be put on the wait list to which the wait staff said yes and proceeded to do so while still completely ignoring the customers at the main door. They began to speak amongst themselves, a few had been there for about 15 min and were not asked to be put on the wait list. It was quite a disappointing experience as their food was delicious, sadly because of this experience we decided to try a different restaurant instead. I would advise a reservation should be made if possible or to go to this restaurant during a time that is not so busy.
While the food was pretty good here and the waitress was nice, the food took FOREVER to come out. I had the seafood quartet (two bites missing in the photo), and it was just alright. We were a table of six plus a baby, and it was frustrating that the food took so long without any explanation (waitress didnt come by and say it was coming soon, or ask if we wanted more drinks). I was excited to come here because of all the positive reviews, but I dont think Id recommend it based on the wait alone. Two people in our party had the fish cakes and they were cold when they got to the table. To be fair, we did not give the waitress the chance to fix this because we had already waited so long. Will definitely try somewhere else next time.
So happy we picked this place! There was a wait to get a table, but they gave us an approximate time and we went for a walk by the water instead of waiting at the door. I was impressed by the size of the menu, which was so packed with appetizing options that it took a while to decide. The server was very helpful in helping us decide. We ended up demolishing a lobster tail, pan fried haddock, scallops and a pound of mussels, along with a variety of perfectly roasted veggies. I grew up on east coast seafood and this place really does it justice.
Fantastic little restaurant right next to the bluenose. The seafood is really good - try the oysters! The beer selection excellent and really friendly service. If you are here in the summer during the main tourist season there will likely be a long wait as it's extremely busy.
The food choice was great and the view is spectacular. What killed it for me was the long wait time for our food. When it finally arrived, my fish cakes were cold. Before I was able to take a bite, a fly landed on one fish cake. I cut the portion off and ate the rest. I was too hungry at this point to send it back. The random beer selection my spouse got was great. Usually you only get four to five beers but I came with 7.
